Produced in London by William Faden in 1778, this battle map depicts in detail the encampment of the British and Hessian troops, and the American force in ambush. The American's planned to ambush the British, but their plan was discovered. The British in turn conducted a night raid, known as the "Paoli Massacre," on American forces, who are described as "flying in disorder" in the legend.
