Shows title in simple surround at lower right incorporating a lettered key (A-E) - A is the "Designed Pentagon" of the fort and B is the alternative design, "a Square which may be put on the Ground". Both are illustrated by means of a pastedown flap showing the square design with the pentagon design on the map beneath.
Shows gardens outside the fort.
Shows scale bar at lower centre (600 feet).
Previous British Library cataloguing has suggested Charles Rivez as surveyor based on comparison with Add Ms 57,708.5. - Rivez was responsible for surveying the fort after its completion.

Paper watermark shows a lion holding arrows (?), within a roundel surrounded by text, surmounted by a crown. Countermark shows "LVG".
