While you can name your land or country anything you want, we called ours HappyLand. Your first step is to think about the ways that maps help us understand a location, the tools on a map and the kinds of information you want to include. Have fun with your map! When you are finished, create an atlas entry for your new country and share it.

Materials:
Any art supplies will do but here are some suggestions:
Poster board or large paper
Markers, paints, crayons, colored pencils, glue stick
Stickers
Colored paper to cut shapes
Craft items to create a 3-D topographic map: pipe cleaners, ribbon, the egg cups out of an egg carton, etc.
