Dedicated to George Washington, it was the first American-published map of the battle. The plan depicts the British troops (colored red), who were waiting for new supplies and reinforcements, surrounded by the French and American troops (colored yellow and blue). Bauman used pictorial symbols to represent the French navy’s victory over the British in the York River.
