Landfall and headland views, like those displayed here, were intended to give mariners a sea-view of the harbor and coastline, and were used in conjunction with charts of the corresponding area. By comparison, the central, circular view of the Falls of Hinchinbroke River … was not intended for navigational use like coastal profiles, but was simply an artistic representation of an inland landmark, named in honor of a patron. The lower view of Halifax Harbour is another example of an artistic depiction of a port, of which numerous examples can be found throughout the Neptune.","publisher_tsi":"J.F.W.
