Civil War: Different Ways to Tell a Story About the Civil War

Information

Overview:

This lesson comes from our Civil War exhibition and contains interesting items that convey information in non-verbal ways that are appropriate and engaging for younger children. They tell a story in a simple yet powerful way. There are six images in the lesson. It is up to you how you wish to introduce them to your students. Each tells a story in a different way. One option is to show them the images and have them brainstorm, perhaps write captions for them or imagine them as part of a series. What image came before or after? We are including the exhibit captions to give you information that you may share with your students. This is 1 of 27 lessons in the unit.
