Collection George Washington Presidential Library at Mount Vernon Collection

The George Washington Presidential Library's map holdings comprise of over 1000 print and manuscript maps and surveys across five collections: The Historic Map Collection; the Paul Stevens Map Collection; the George Washington Collection; the Ted and Mary Wendell Early American Collection; and the Sandy Lerner Collection. The Historic Map Collection contains print and manuscript maps dating from 1675-1971 and includes matching editions of maps owned by George Washington. The Paul Stevens Map Collection pertains to early America and Virginia and dates from 1541-1778. Items within the George Washington Collection include manuscript surveys and plat maps made by George Washington as well as one map owned by George Washington. The Ted and Mary Wendell Early American Collection includes 10 maps of North America dating from 1721-1826. The Sandy Lerner Collection includes 25 maps dating from the 16th-19th centuries, with a primary focus on early Virginia and the Chesapeake.
